Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions (“Conditions”) form the basis of the contract between You and Advanced Battlefield Studies (ABS) – GREECE (“We”, “Us” or “Our”) (“Contract”). It is important that You read the Contract carefully to ensure that You understand Your rights and obligations. Your Contract may also include additional terms and conditions applicable to a special offer or promotion.
The contract will exist when We have received Your completed booking form and the required deposit amount and We have acknowledged receipt in the form of a confirmation letter, detailing services.
If You make a Booking on behalf of any other person, You represent to Us that You have their authority to make the Booking on their behalf and to legally bind them to the terms of the Contract, including the Conditions. Each reference to “You”, “Your”, “Guest” or “Passenger” means the person who makes the Booking and each other person covered by the Booking.
Your Itinerary does not form part of the Contract.
We may amend these Conditions from time to time. If We amend the Conditions, We will publish the amended version on Our Website. We will also provide the current version of the Conditions to You upon request. You will be bound by the current version of the Conditions at the time You make Your Booking.
All payments and rates are in Euros. There are two payment methods, using your credit card or by bank transfer payable to Advanced Battlefield Studies (ABS) – Greece. For all bank transfers you are responsible to pay all Bank fees. Before payment by bank transfer you’ll all the necessary details.
Prices set out at the time of booking maybe subject to variation due to matters outside of our control. ABS-GREECE will do all it can to avoid passing any increases onto you.
If you are forced to cancel a booking, a verbal notice of cancellation must also be confirmed in writing. Refunds of payments apply on receipt of written notification by you as follows;
- • More than 28 days – 100% refund.
- • 28 to 14 days – 75% refund.
- • 14 to 7 days – 50% refund.
- • Less than 7 days – no refund.
If you are prevented from joining a Program, you may transfer the booking to another person or another Program (subject to availability) provided that Advanced Battlefield Studies – Greece is informed before the Program begins and agree to the transfer. The transferer or transferee are jointly and severally liable to ABS – GREECE for any outstanding payments.
To participate in any of our programs you must ensure that you have adequate holiday insurance to cover cancellation and curtailment up to the cost of the program for each participant, medical expenses, emergency repatriation, loss of luggage, travel delay plus loss of personal items and cash. It is a condition of booking that you and all members of your party be adequately insured as soon as you book your program.
All tours involve a fair amount of walking often over uneven cobbled streets, hillsides or steps. Participants on all tours should be able to walk or stand for at least sixty minutes without aid or requiring a rest.. If you have any concerns in this regard, please contact us so that we can advise you further. We will refuse to carry anyone who has failed to notify us of any disability requiring assistance during the period from booking the program to its beginning. Subsequent to the program’s beginning anyone who in Advanced Battlefield Studies – Greece’s opinion proves to be unfit to travel or cannot meet the required criteria of walking may have their holiday terminated and we will impose any applicable cancellation charges.
Amendment fees of €20 will apply to any change on an existing booking.
Descriptions of tours, attractions and accommodation provided on this website are based on information provided by hotels and suppliers. Any facilities shown as included may change at any time. ABS – GREECE makes no representation as to the standard, class or description of accommodation or services provided by third parties. Every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of the information provided to passengers; however, ABS – GREECE cannot be held responsible for typographical errors, or errors arising from unforeseen circumstances.
Maps are shown for general information and do not necessarily reflect actual routings, locations or services provided. Photographs may show places in the general area visited, but not necessarily included in the tour. Many of the images on our website and brochure are supplied by various sources. Unless they specifically request otherwise, clients accept that they may be photographed during the course of their holiday and that ABS-GREECE may use such photographs for promotional purposes.
It is the responsibility of the passenger to have a valid passport and all visas, permits and certificates required for the selected program.
Please check with your airline for applicable baggage allowances. You must be able to carry your own baggage as porterage is not provided. All baggage and personal effects are at all times and in all circumstances at the risk of the tour participant. Baggage insurance is required.
If you are travelling as a single passenger, you can request that we try to match you in a twin share room with another single passenger of the same sex. Should we not be able to match you in a twin share room by the final tour balance payment date, the single room supplement rate will apply. Should you be matched with another person we cannot be held responsible if the choice is not to your satisfaction.
If you have special requests, e.g. seating, meals, non-smoking rooms etc. please ensure you advise us at time of booking. We will pass on all requests to our suppliers but cannot guarantee they will be met.
The cruise or ferry portions of all packages are subject to the terms and conditions of the cruise and ferry companies.
If ABS – GREECE reasonably considers that a passenger is physically incapable of participating in any tour, or that a passenger may be disruptive to the safety or comfort of passengers or staff it may, in the reasonable exercise of its discretion, refuse to carry that passenger on the tour. Passengers are required to advise ABS – GREECE, at the time of booking, of any physical, medical or other special needs that require accommodating. ABS – GREECE does not employ medical personnel. Any necessary medical attention will be provided by a local facility at the passenger’s expense. ABS – GREECE is not responsible or liable for any losses or costs incurred as a result of medical services obtained while on tour, or for the quality of the care or services received.
*We are unable to carry children under 10 years of age. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
In the reasonable exercise of its discretion, ABS – GREECE may remove a passenger from our tours if one or more of the following have occurred or if Advanced Battlefield Studies – Greece reasonably believes may occur:
(a) The continued presence of the passenger may endanger the safety, health or materially affect the comfort of other passengers;
(b) The conduct, age, mental or physical state of the passenger is, or reasonably seems, such as to : require special assistance which cannot be reasonably provided; cause discomfort or make the passenger objectionable to other passengers or accompanying personnel; involve any hazard or risk to the passenger, other passengers or accompanying personnel or property.
All possible effort will be made to adhere to the published touring itinerary. Occasionally circumstances beyond our control will force cancellations, changes, amendments or modifications to the itinerary and its inclusions such as particular events and services ABS – GREECE cannot be held responsible for any omissions or modifications to the itinerary or the inclusions made as a consequence of these changes.
To the extent permitted by law, ABS – GREECE excludes all liability for any loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to physical and psychological injury, and loss or damage to property of whatever nature) that may arise in any way in connection with the offer or supply of goods or services through ABS – GREECE or any third parties, or in connection with the supply of such goods or services. If the law implies a condition or warranty that cannot be excluded, ABS – GREECE liability for a breach of the conditions or warranty will be limited as determined by ABS – GREECE to the re-supply or payment of the cost of re-supplying the relevant goods or services. Except where otherwise stated within these terms and conditions ABS – GREECE excludes liability for any loss or damage that may be caused by cancellation, abandonment, alteration, amendment, modification or termination of the tour.
Participants agree not to hold ABS – GREECE responsible for any loss, injury or damage to any person, property or otherwise in connection with any accommodation, transportation or resulting from any Acts of God, dangers, incident at sea, fire, breakdowns in machinery or equipment, act of governments, or authorities, de jure or de facto, wars declared or not, hostilities, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, pilferage, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, defaults, delays, cancellations or any causes beyond our control, for any loss or damage resulting from improperly issued visas or other documents, and that the ABS – GREECE or its staff will not be responsible for any additional expenses or liability sustained for or incurred by the tour participant as a result of any of the forgoing clauses.
Should you have a complaint while on the tour, you should inform our Company Members being with you immediately. If the matter cannot be resolved after their best endeavours to do so during the tour, your complaint must be made in writing to ABS – GREECE. ABS – GREECE cannot be held responsible for issues that were not brought to our attention during the course of a tour.
This contract and any matters arising from it are governed by the law of Greece and are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Greece.
