Macedonian Front

The First World War in the Balkans has been overshadowed by the other theaters of the Great War and does not attract the attention of historians and other experts that it deserves. However, the battlefields Macedonian Front played an important role in the development of European history and should not be neglected. The Macedonian front is interesting because it was the perhaps the most diverse front in terms of participants on both sides.
After an initial overview of the campaign in Thessaloniki we follow the battles in Struma Valley. We visit Skra di Legen where the Greek forces in spring 1918 launched a successful offensive against the fortified area. Finally we follow the battles of the British and Greek forces around the lake Doiran.
