About Us
Advanced Battlefield Studies – Greece is a consulting and training company and was established in Athens to provide high quality experiential training
based in historical battlefields. Our company is unique and the first of its kind in Greece, where some of the most pivotal battles
in world history were fought, from the ancient to modern times.
ABOUT US
We conduct military staff rides aimed at military audiences, academic staff rides for university students, corporate staff rides for executives in corporations and battlefield studies for the general audience and military history enthusiasts. Besides the above four services we are ready to offer customized programs to suit customer’s specific needs.
WHY US
- Highly experienced team of professionals with international experience.
- First company of this kind in Greece.
- Each program an unrivaled educational experience and unforgettable event.
- Value for money.
- Our mission and our passion are one in the same.
SERVICES
There are several activities based on visiting battlefields with significant differences between them depending on purpose and audience. Advanced Battlefield Studies – Greece offers five different activities. Our activities are organized in two ways either on chronological order, like Persian Wars or Peloponnesian War or in thematic modules throughout the centuries.
Staff Rides
Military Staff Ride
A military staff ride is a historical study of a campaign or battle that envisions a systematic preliminary study phase, an extensive field study phase on the actual historic site and an integration phase to capture the lessons derived from each.
Academic Staff Ride
In academic staff rides students role-play the experiences of politicians, generals, and civilians who were involved in the conflict, providing memorable lessons and case studies in strategy, leadership, and decision making.
Corporate Staff Ride
Management teams who participate in corporate staff rides visit and study a select battlefield for the purpose of drawing parallels between that military campaign and their own corporate challenges, including leader training, timely decision-making, effective communications, resource deployment and team building.
Studies & Surveys
Battlefield Study
Battlefield study links a historical event to a real battlefield terrain leading to a systematic study of battles, campaigns and other operations. It demands little or no beforehand preparation which is fulfilled by a preliminary phase of presentations before visiting the battlefield.
Brief Battlefield Survey
For those without enough time but with a keen interest in history, we offer brief surveys of battlefield sites of one or two day’s duration, around Athens and Thessaloniki.
Education/Mentoring
Our last service regards education and mentoring on strategy.
Education and Mentoring
We provide education to civilian and military audiences on strategy, operational art and campaign planning, together leadership, and mentor seminar groups on planning and decision-making.
We also offer mentoring in current issues of defence security and military affairs.
Tailor-made/ Cooperation
Based on the above five activities we also provide tailor-made programs to suit customers’ needs
and we can assist other agencies working on similar activities.
Tailor-made Programs
In addition to standard battlefield studies each year on fixed dates, we also specialise in designing, organising and conducting customised battlefield activities in all battlefields of Greece, throughout the year. A custom battlefield activity enables the customer to create a unique itinerary and only visit the sites tailored to your needs.
Cooperation
We can cooperate with any agency, educational institution, headquarters providing portions of their program in Greece. Fields of cooperation include planning assistance and advice, reconnaissance assistance, research assistance and administration support.
